Daniel hides Luce at Shoreline, a school on the rocky California coast with unusually gifted students -Nephilim, the offspring of fallen angels and humans.
At Shoreline, Luce learns what the Shadows are, and how she can use them as windows to her previous lives. Yet the more Luce learns, the more she suspects that Daniel hasn't told her everything. He's hiding something - something dangerous. What if Daniel's version of the past isn't actually true? What if Luce is really meant to be with someone else? The second novel in the addictive FALLEN series . . . where love never dies.
Review:
I think I've been more drawn to this book compared to Fallen. Though the first book was entirely interesting (and I liked how it ended), I still think this one blew a little harder.
Lauren Kate has a different writing style in comparison to many of the Young adult authors I've encountered. I don't really know what to say about about it. At times I like it, but there are a few portions that I do not like. Maybe because it's dragging a quick scene way too much.
In Fallen, I loved how the setting was like. Sword and Cross was captivating. I don't really know what to say about what's in this one. Ditto with what I think about Kate's writing, it's an 'in between'.
If you ask me about the romance part, I don't think I ever felt it. Sorry.
So far, I guess I'll have to keep on reading the series.
