Review:
First of all, this is one of the few books that I ever been so obsessed with. I know "obsessed" is a wrong word for a reviewer, but yeah, who cares?

anyway, I bought this book out of curiosity rather than the rating people give it. I'm one of those book reviewers that's really picky on the books I purchase(since it's from my own personal money). Thus, usually, I get to check people's reviews on one book before I get to the whole point of actually purchasing it. It was rather it's popularity among book hauls that made me so interested in buying it. I've watched a few reviews that said it was great and a little bit "chopped off" at the end of it. But anyway, I bought it.

I was expecting this book tells a rather horrific suspense/horror story about a 15-year-old girl. The cover gave me that impression, but most especially, the synopsis that's written carefully not to give anything away from the book's contents. I was rather  surprised and quite confused on the first few pages, since I never thought the setting would be the modern-day world, rather than the misleading 'medieval-looking' cover.

The characters were made of art. and definitely not the fantasy-perfect kind, but the  average true-to-life kind. I don't find the protagonist annoying, (which is good) she was rather average, and most people could really find an inner character in them from the book. I kept thinking about them too, which means the characters are well-written, and true to life as they are. The story can keep you at the edge of your seat all the time. Kelley Armstrong uses simple and quickly understood words and phrases, but these are just one way to keep the events fast, speedy and exciting.

Though, like everybody said, the ending was rather more of a 'cut-off' from a movie scene rather than an actual cliff-hanger in books. But anyway, if you liked the story the way I did, you'll have the sudden urge to  go get the next installment of the series right away.

If you didn't like the first book, give the 2nd and 3rd a shot and ssee what happens. :)
