Synopsis:
Only two weeks ago, life was all too predictable. But that was before I saw my first ghost. Now, along with my supernatural friends Tori, Derek, and Simon, I’m on the run from the Edison Group, which genetically altered us as part of their sinister experiment. We’re hiding in a safe house that might not be as safe as it seems. We’ll be gone soon anyway, back to rescue those we’d left behind and to take out the Edison Group . . . or so we hope.
Review:
"The Reckoning" is the 3rd installment in the "Darkest Powers Trilogy." This time, this books gets a lot more thumbs-ups and positive reviews compared to the first two books.
Let me just start by saying that I really adore this series. The genre is rather Young Adult, not too mature, and never too intense. This is one of the few books where it reflects a great volume of reality despite the fantasy in it's contents. The characters, are realistic, a few steps from average, but the same time unique.
That's why people love these books so much. It's the characters aside from the whole plot and idea that keeps the hype of this series alive and simmering. It is indeed a work of pure art. The adventures, the climax, are far more explosive and intense in comparison to the last two books. Though, the last kind of left a few gaping holes, it's because Kelley Armstrong is just making room for a few more books to come in.
There's a next set of trilogy coming up, called the Darkest Rising, Project Phoenix.
